The New Fairy Tales - The Wonderful Wizard of Oz

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz is the sixth story in The New Fairy Tales Series. It is based on The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum in 1900 and loosely based on Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West and Son of a Witch by Gregory Maguire in 1995 and 2005. I loved The Wizard of Oz (1939) when I was younger and have always wanted to do my own version of the Wizard of Oz. I was originally going to do David Poral and the Wizard of Oz which had a very solid plot, but I decided to put it with the fairy tale series. I have enjoyed working own my version of it and I hope that others will think it's interesting.

Dorothy Gale is a Nineteen year old Kansas City girl who lives with her Aunt Emma and Uncle Henry on their farm. Dorothy has an American Eskimo dog named Toto that quite often accidentally ruins a local gardener's garden, Ms. Gulch. One day, Ms. Gulch tries to beat Toto with a broom but he bits her. She then takes it to the county and they give her the authority to take Toto to City Hall to be put to sleep. But Toto escapes Ms. Gulch's Car and Dorothy runs away with him. But when Dorothy finds out about a storm coming, she thinks her Aunt Emma will worry about her and get herself hurt looking for her in the storm. Dorothy returns to the farm only to be whisked away by a cyclone the rips the farm right out of the ground. Dorothy then finds herself in the Land of Oz and surrounded by little people. She then meets Glinda the Good Witch and Elphaba the Wicked Witch (who's sister Dorothy unintentionally kills). Elphaba's sister's sapphire slippers are then given to Dorothy to help her along her journey to meet the Wizard of Oz; whom will grant her wish and send her back home to Kansas. On her journey, she meets a man with no name (whom she calls Exavior, due to a tag attached to clothes), Cleo (a humanoid robot), a cowardly lion named Theodore, and a handsome young man named Liir (Elphaba's son, who has a hidden agenda). They're all off to see the Wizard in this modern retelling of the 1900 novel by L. Frank Baum.

The Wizard of Oz has always been one of my favorite fairy tales. I have enjoyed coming up with ideas for it and love to work on it. I have taken characters from novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, like Elphaba (the Wicked Witch), Liir (Elphaba's son, a Warlock), Nessarose (the Witch of the East), and Fiyero (Elphaba's old love interest). My version of the Wizard of Oz has several different twists that I think people will really like. I also wanted to change the color of the slippers. I loved the original silver slippers, and the ruby slippers in The Wizard of Oz (1939); but I changed them to sapphire slippers instead. The New Fairy Tales - Lil' Red Ridin' Hoodie

Lil' Red Ridin' Hoodie is the first story in The New Fairy Tales Series. It is based on the fairy tale Little Red Riding Hood by Charles Perrault in 1695. Lil' Red is based off of two characters in the original story, he is "Little Red Riding Hood" and "the Hunter" combined. I have enjoyed working on this story because it is a more spiritual and supernatural version of the original story.

 Dr. Red is a scientist that lives in Glory Village with her son Lil' Red. Dr. Red is famous in the village because she creates medicines and vaccines to heal the villagers so no one will die from any sicknesses. Lil' Red delivers the medicines to the villagers making the Red family loved deeply by the villagers because of their good deeds. Five evil wolves Tnaas, Natas, Evild, Crulfie, and Veild (the leader of the wolves) try to stop Lil' Red from reaching his destination. But with his supernatural powers he fights them off and prevails. Then, Lil' Red's own grandmother gets really sick, giving the wolves the perfect opportunity to create distractions and prevent Lil' Red from saving her. Lil' Red must get prepared and stop the wolves once and for all.

This is by far another one of my favorite stories. It has a lot of messages in it that I think can really help people. Now the wolves names are all anagrams of the devil's names: Tnaas and Natas (Satan), Crulfie (Lucifer), Evild and Veild (Devil). The wolves represent the devil and how he tries to hinder us from reaching are goals; but if we use the power God gave us (Lil' Red's supernatural powers), we can rebuke the devil and prevail. The New Fairy Tales - Snow

Snow is the third fairy tale in The New Fairy Tales Series. It is taken from and based on the original fairy tale Snow-White and the Seven Dwarfs by Brothers Grimm in 1823. I have enjoyed coming up with this idea very much because it is a great fairy tale. I have watched several versions of Snow White and they all have inspired me. I absolutely love Snow White and I love working on an adaption of my own.

Isabelle is a Queen that wants nothing more than a king to call her own. Isabelle is also an evil witch and has a looking-glass mirror that tells her what she wants. When Isabelle spots Theodore in the looking-glass, she uses her powers and kills his wife after she gives birth to their daughter, Snow. Theodore wonders in wilderness with the baby to find shelter and collapses, but is rescued by Isabelle whom he then marries and becomes her king. As the years go on, Isabelle kills any woman that may pose a threat to her title of being "Fairest of Them All." But as Snow grows older, she begins to blossom and get the attention of a Prince named Tyler that visits their kingdom. Isabelle becomes envious of Snow and wants the handsome young Prince Tyler to herself. Isabelle tries with all her power to kill Snow and get the Prince to fall for her all leading up to her final plan of evil... the poison apple. Enjoy a classical fairy tale told in this new updated version of Snow White.

Now, my version of Snow White is a little gorier than the original. It also has a different plot from the original also as far as the evil queen killing Snow's mother and other women that pose a threat to her. It's also a little different because Isabelle wants the Prince to marry her instead of Snow. I love this idea a lot and I hope that others will too. The Phantom Of The Opera

The Phantom Of The Opera is based on the novel by Gaston Leroux and also some elements from Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical. I became inquisitive of the Phantom of the Opera in late 2009 when it came to the Fox Theater in St. Louis. I went to see the show and I was blown away. I had decided before I went to go see the show that I wanted to make my own version of Phantom and I did. I would like it to have and all black cast and have an Opera/R&B feel with the music.

Christine Daaé is grieving over her father s he is dying of a terrible sickness. Once he dies, Christine no longer wants to sing with the passion she had before. That is until the Angel of Music (Erik, The Phantom) begins to speak to her in her dressing room and helped her make her voice phenomenal. Once she begins to rise in the opera, the Phantom takes Christine to his home underground and proclaims his love for her. Despite his deformities, Christine still loves him. But as her love for her childhood friend (Raoul) grows, she finds herself caught in a love triangle. Raoul is furious about her fear of Erik and will try at nothing to stop him. Raoul confides in Madame Giry (the opera's ballet instructor) who seems to know an awful lot about Erik's dark past.

I have already completed this story (Yeah!!!!!) and I enjoyed writing it. I even wrote three original songs to coincide with Andrew Lloyd Webber's original music for the story. I would like the music and songs to go in this order [Note: * means they are original songs]:

Down South Medium is the first story in the Down South Medium Series. It is about a Twenty year old guy named Ivan Geralds who becomes a medium after a tragic car accident that he is in with his older brother. After the accident, he realizes he has supernatural abilities and can talk to spirits.

Ivan Geralds and his older brother Nathan Geralds live in an apartment together in New York City. Their parents are no longer alive leaving themselves as each others only living family member, until a tragic car crash ends fatally killing them both. But God gives Ivan a second chance reviving him with abilities that he is unaware of having. Then when he moves to his birth place (Arkansas), he realizes he can communicate with spirits. Ivan finds himself in the middle of a mystery that happened twenty years ago. Ivan embraces his new destiny and unlocks dark secrets about his family's past and the truth about how they died. Join Ivan as he uses his new God given abilities on his journey to find himself and connect with spirits and demons in the spiritual realm. 

Down South Medium is a fun idea to write and I enjoy doing it. It's really a coming of age story (kind of like The Funhouse); because after he comes back to life, it's like he starts all over again and is in this new world he doesn't understand. The Quinity Saga

The Quinity Saga is a spin-off of the David Poral Series and continues where David Poral left off. The Quinity Saga takes place two years after the events of David Poral and the Oricals. Thanksgiving With the Clarksons

Thanksgiving With The Clarksons is a comedy-drama story I came up with about drama that goes on in families. Although family drama happens year round, I wanted to give it a holiday feel (and I have several bad personal experiences with family during this holiday); so I set it around Thanksgiving time. This story is also a Narrative story (the main character talks throughout the story during highlights of the story or just to put in her personal feelings of things without speaking out loud and/or hurting someones feelings). Danielle Davis is the main character along with her husband and four children. Danielle narrates the story as more drama unfolds during this holiday season.

Danielle Davis is a stay at home mom working on her PhD in Psychology and has a loving husband Treyon with four kids named Tenisha, James, Johan, and Trey. Danielle's parents just died recently leaving her an her siblings (David, Lamar, and Tina) as the last members of the family, as an effort to keep the family together, Danielle brings the family together for Thanksgiving. But once family begins to show, a feud between her own sons comes to an ugly head, her sister tries to attack her character every chance she gets, her eldest brother acts like nothing is wrong, and ignorance gets out of hand creating a dish of drama and conflict.

This idea came to me in January of this year and it is heavily based on my real holiday experiences with extended family members. I believe that this story will have a lot of characters that people will be able to relate to. Stay posted for more info on Thanksgiving With the Clarksons.

Psychasthenia

Psychasthenia was my first psychological thriller that I had come up with, it is now the second (due to the creation of Shattered Psyche, and me not really planning on writing this story). Psychasthenia is about a serial killer who is killing people in Los Angeles, California for unexplained reasons with several suspects being involved. To help you all understand what Psychasthenia is about, here is it's dictionary definition from Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary 10th Edition:

Psychasthenia - a neurotic state characterized esp. by phobias, obsessions, or compulsions that one knows are irrational.

The Pachsyis Family is one of the wealthiest families in Los Angeles. They own a company called Anderson Corp. (a stock market company) that is run by Daniel Pachsyis and his older brother Andrew Pachsyis. Daniel has a son named Ethan Pachsyis, whom Daniel is wanting to take over the company once he is older. But Andrew also has a son named Justin Pachsyis II (named after their father), whom he wants to run the company when he is older. The brothers have constant conflicts during stock exchanges, causing it to be slightly difficult for the company (though they are still successful). Soon when strange serial killings erupt in the city of Los Angeles, Detective Marcus Rhodes (one of Los Angeles' best detectives) is put on the case, only to find himself twisted up in several scams and killings that somehow link to the famous Pachsyis Family.

This wasn't exactly the original plot for Psychasthenia, but it's storyline will be similar to the original version I was writing. Stay tuned for more info about Psychasthenia.

Confessions Of a Pizza Delivery Driver

Confessions Of a Pizza Delivery Driver is a story I came up with inspired by my real life experiences working as a pizza delivery driver and working at a pizza restaurant. It's about a nineteen year old guy named Joshua that gets hired at a pizza restaurant called Pizza Stop. This story will cover his entire experience with the restaurant from when he is hired to when he quits. This is my first fictional diary-like story that I have come up with (since it's like a diary as far as the events that have happened to me). Joshua will mostly be confessingto his psychiatrist during the entire story.

Hi, I'm Joshua. I'm nineteen years old and I work at a local pizza restaurant in my town called Pizza Stop. I'm a delivery driver... which unfortunately is not the best job in the world. I mean I don't mind the job, but there are some crazy things that I have experienced at Pizza Stop. Through my own personal experience, I have come up with my own personal theory... RESTAURANTS ARE THE WORST JOBS. I mean think about it... besides the way the customers treat you, the other employees treat you just as bad. But to get to my wonderful co-workers; first is my boss Mindy, who likes to yell at you, talk about you behind your back, and smile in your face; second is Antonio, he's my best friend, we always love to work together, and we both know the true meaning of teamwork; third is Alex, he's the best pizza cook, but he whines a little too much; fourth is Rodney, he's the oldest cook, he's always looking out for me; fifth is Jasmine, she's a driver, she comes to our store occasionally to help out, and she's my friend; and then there's Mario, he's a delivery driver, he thinks he is absolutely beautiful, he's conceited, he thinks he's God's gift to Pizza Stop, he's Mindy's favorite (not to mention he kisses up her butt), and he and I are rivals... unfortunately. And when you put all of these wonderful personalities together, you get the worst restaurant crew you've probably ever seen in your life.

This idea came to me while I was working at a pizza restaurant. It's heavily based on my experiences but twisted around a little for comical pleasure. David Poral: Rick-O-Demon

David Poral: Rick-O-Demon is one of my David Poral short stories that I'm going to be posting today. It is eleven pages long (written) and is about Rick being copied by a shadow demon to fool David and kill him. Luckily, Rava comes home just in time to help David with this shadowy green slime spitting creature.

One night, RICK comes out of his class room with his suitcase in his hand and leaves out of the high school building. RICK goes to his car and puts his suitcase in the passenger's seat. RICK walks to the driver's seat when the screen gets shaky and something knocks RICK over on the ground.

RICK

Ugh... (sigh) nice, I just got this suit dry cleaned.

RICK gets up and a shadow-like figure with yellow eyes was standing by him. The figure grabs RICK's neck and blows black smoke in his face.

SHADOW FIGURE

DIE!!!!!

RICK drops to the ground. Soon after, the SHADOW FIGURE looks at RICK. Suddenly, the SHADOW FIGURE turns into RICK. Later, RICK (SHADOW) ties RICK up with RICK's dress shirt and duck tapes his mouth closed.

RICK (SHADOW)

That should shut you up.

RICK

Mmm... mmm...

RICK (SHADOW)

If the black smoke wasn't strong enough to kill you... you can suffocate.

RICK (SHADOW) waves his hand and RICK appears in the trunk of the car. RICK (SHADOW) slams the trunk and gets in the car. He starts the car and drives off. Meanwhile, at the PORAL's Household, DAVID is sitting at a table in the attic reading a Super School book next to a stack of more books.

DAVID

Finished...

DAVID closes the book and puts it on the table.

DAVID

That would make the sixth book I've read today. Since I don't have a life unlike Rick, Rava, Mark, and Matt who all have jobs and things of that nature.

Meanwhile, outside of the house, RICK (SHADOW) is standing by the door holding RICK's suit jacket and suitcase. he opens the door and hangs his jacket on the door hook, puts down his suitcase, and begins to walk up the stairs to the attic. Meanwhile, RAVA is driving back to the PORAL's House when she hears RICK's voice call out to her.

RICK (O.S)

Rava... help me...

RAVA

What?

RICK (O.S.)

David... is in... trouble...

RAVA pulls her cell phone out and begins to call DAVID's cell. Back at the PORAL's House, David starts to read another book when his cell phone rings. DAVID puts down the book and picks up his phone and answers it.

DAVID

Hello?

RAVA

David, are you at home?

DAVID

Yeah, where else would I be? You know the only thing I do is read books 24/7. I should've kept my job at Stay Inn... but I guess it was going to close down eventually anyway right?

RAVA

Uhh... OK, Rick contacted me.

DAVID

On the phone or with twin telepathy?

RAVA

You know what I mean.

DAVID

Why would he contact you telepathically?

RAVA

He said that you he needed help and that you were in trouble.

RICK walks into the attic with his hand in his pocket.



DAVID

Did he mean he needed help walking up the stairs? 'Cause he just walked into the attic and we're fine both fine.

RAVA

OK... just be careful.

DAVID

I will.

DAVID hangs up the phone and looks at RICK (SHADOW).

 DAVID

Is everything OK Rick? Rava said you contacted her.

RICK (SHADOW)

No, I didn't contact her and I'm fine.

RICK (SHADOW) looks at DAVID and smirks.

RICK (SHADOW)

So what are you doing up here?

DAVID

Well, having nothing to do I've been reading Super School all day.

RICK (SHADOW)

That's good.

RICK (SHADOW) walks closer to DAVID.

RICK (SHADOW)

I am... so hungry.

DAVID is checking off books that he had read on a list.



DAVID

There's some food from earlier in the refrigerator.

RICK

That's not what I meant. I meant I'm hungry to kill.

DAVID stops checking the list and looks at RICK.

DAVID

What?

RICK (SHADOW) looks at DAVID as green slime begins to drip out of his mouth and skin. Soon after, his skin gets gray and zombie like as DAVID bucks his eyes.

RICK (SHADOW)

What's wrong? Scared?!

RICK's (SHADOW) eyes turn yellow. RICK (SHADOW) jumps over the table to attack DAVID when he orbs away. RAVA comes through the front door and hangs up her jacket on a hook.

RAVA

David!!!

Upstairs, DAVID is running away from RICK (SHADOW) as they run down the hallway. RICK (SHADOW) spit green slime out of his mouth.

DAVID

Aaahh!!!

DAVID orbs away with a red glow as the slime shoots towards him and it hits the wall.

RICK (SHADOW)

NO!!!!!

DAVID reappears with a red glow in the living room.

RAVA

What's going on?

RICK (SHADOW) runs down the stairs.

DAVID

Behind the couch!

DAVID and RAVA dash behind the couch as RICK (SHADOW) throws a fire ball at the couch. DAVID and RAVA hold hands and they teleport upstairs in the hallway. Suddenly, RICK (SHADOW) dashes down the hallway and grabs DAVID.

DAVID

Hey!!!

RICK (SHADOW) throws DAVID out of the window into the front yard.

RAVA

Oh no.

RAVA looks at RICK (SHADOW) and runs down the stairs. Outside, DAVID was getting up as RAVA runs outside. Suddenly, RICK (SHADOW) bursts out of the house.

DAVID

Uh oh...

DAVID backs into RICK's car and his eyes turn pure white. DAVID saw RICK being tied up and in the trunk of his car. DAVID's eyes turn back to normal.

DAVID

Rick...

RICK (SHADOW) dashes towards DAVID and RAVA. DAVID waves his hand and RICK (SHADOW) flies into the house.

DAVID

Rick's in his trunk.

DAVID and RAVA open RICK's trunk and see him tied up. DAVID and RAVA get him out and untie him.

RAVA

So you did contact me.

RICK

Yeah, I did.

DAVID

No time to chat, we have a Shadow Stealer to kill.

RICK and RAVA

Shadow Stealer?!

DAVID

Yes, they copy your shadow and your look to kill people you know. (while smiling big) I read about  them today.

Suddenly, RICK (SHADOW) gets up and dashes towards DAVID, RICK, and RAVA. The screen blanks out and the Across Oval, the Straight Oval, and the Square appears on the screen aligning to create the Trinity symbol. The screen comes back and the Trinity symbol appears under DAVID, RICK, and RAVA.

DAVID, RICK, and RAVA

Trinity!!!

A green blast shot out of their hands when they put them out towards RICK (SHADOW). Soon after, the blast hits RICK (SHADOW).

RICK (SHADOW)

Noooo!!!!!!!!!



RICK (SHADOW) disintegrates into slime on the ground.

DAVID

Whoa...

DAVID, RICK, and RAVA walk over to the spot that RICK (SHADOW) was vanquished in.

RICK
Thanks guys...

RAVA

No problem, that's what family is for.

DAVID

Let's go inside.

DAVID, RICK, and RAVA go inside of the house and close the door.

David Poral Series - Main Cast

David Poral as I said before is the first series I came up with, so it's very dear to me. Now I'm about to tell you the Main Cast of David Poral and who I'd like to portray them. The five Porals (David, Rick, Rava, Mark, and Matt) have various abilities and powers that I will also be posting (along with their power symbols and aliases). Note: Their power symbols are symbols from the Quinity symbol (picture below) that represent their unique abilities.

DAVID PORAL

Full Name: David Nathan Poral
Sex: Male
Age: 15-18, 20-21, and 22-24
Personality: Outgoing, Helpful, Stubborn at times, and Sensitive.
Abilities: Levitation, Orbing, Healing, Cloning Himself, Visions, Flying, Mind reading, Can see things faraway, Sensing, and Changing into other people.
Weakness: Water (He can't swim) and Loud noises.
Quinity Position: Leader
David's Goal in Life: To avenge his father
Quinity Abilities: Uno Blast, Manipulation of Time, and Ultimate Uno Blast (as Ultimate Uno).
Alias: Uno and Ultimate Uno

David Poral is a young superhero in training going to Super School. David has a very helpful and outgoing, but he's also stubborn at times. David is the youngest of the Porals, but is the leader of Quinity. David is also very knowledgeable of demons, witches, and other supernatural creatures. Rick (his older brother) was very skeptical about David being the leader; but as they all grow closer to each other, Rick is more accepting to the fact that David was the chosen one to lead. David is very close to Mark and Matt (since they are a little closer in age) and they usually find themselves in messes together. David is very mature for his age, not getting into things that his peers get into.

Personality: Easygoing, Laid back, Angers easily, and very Stubborn.

Rick Poral is a young man that attends Super School with his twin sister Rava. Rick is easygoing and laid back, but he angers very easily and is stubborn. Rick is the oldest of the Porals and the only one out of all five that took the longest to accept his new destiny (when Quinity reunited). Rick did not like the fact that his new little brother was the leader of Quinity, and does not go along with the groups plans easily. But after a series of events, Rick's personality changes, and he accepts David as the leader and they become close.

Age: 21-24, 26-27, and 28-30
Personality: Outgoing, Romantic, and Bubbly.
Abilities: Healing, Exploding things, Flying, and Terror sensing.

Rava Poral is a young woman that attends Super School with her twin brother Rick. Rava is very outgoing and bubbly, but can sometimes be feisty. Rava is the second oldest of the Porals (Rick came out first) and was the first to really embrace David as her little brother. Rava disliked the fact that Rick was skeptical of David's skills and abilities (because of his knowledge about demons, witches, and other creatures); but once they began to get along, she is glad.


MARK PORAL
Full Name: Mark Monte Poral
Sex: Male
Age: 19-21, 24-25, and 26-28
Personality: Quiet, Helpful, and very Sensitive.
Abilities: Mind reading, Can crush things with the twist of his wrist, Flying, and Sadness sensing.
Weakness: Heat (Fire)

Mark Goal in Life: To defeat evil doers

Mark Poral is young man that attends Super School with his fraternal twin brother Matt. Mark is very quiet, sensitive, and slightly insecure, but he is also helpful. Mark is the first middle child (He came out first) and was excepting to the fact that Rick, Rava, and David were his siblings (along Matt). Mark doesn't like how Rick acts towards David, but he doesn't say anything. As he matures, he gets more secure in himself and speaks his mind.


MATT PORAL
Full Name: Matt Damien Poral
Sex: Male
Age: 19-21, 24-25, and 26-28
Personality: Outgoing, Helpful, and Talkative
Abilities: Mind reading, Can crush things with the twist of his wrist, Running fast, Flying, and Stress sensing.
Weakness: Poison acid

Mark Goal in Life: To save people he cares about

Matt Poral is a young man that attends Super School with his fraternal twin brother Mark. Matt is very talkative and outgoing, he can also be confrontational at times. Matt is the fourth member of Quinity and is the second middle child. Matt was excepting of his new siblings and is very close with David and Mark. Rick and Matt occasionally get into it because of how Rick treats David, but once Rick and David start to get along better, Matt and Rick also bond more.
